Hi! My name is Stanley! I was going to be named after the county in North Carolina - but they spell it "Stanly".
Instead, I'm named after a horse named Stanley Steemer, who was a teaching horse. He, in turn, was named after Stanley Steemer the carpet cleaning service, which was in turn, named after the Stanley Steamer.
The Stanley Motor Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of steam-engine vehicles; it operated from 1902 to 1924. The cars made by the company were colloquially called Stanley Steamers, although several different models were produced.
Not only am I handsome, I am Siamese and I love people and want to meet my forever family! Will that be you? Come down and meet me and see what you think! When all my siblings and I start purring (which is often!) it sounds like a Stanley Steemer in here! I've never been alone before so I need to go home with a buddy from my room.
